Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this parcel sorting hub in Germiston, and you move the stock in between. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.
You'll report in Germiston. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.
What your day looks like
- Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
- Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
- Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
- Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
- Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
- Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
- Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
You'll need
- Willing to travel on routes that return late
- Friendly with customers at the door
- Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
- No criminal record
On offer
- Help to get your own licence through the company later
- Uniform and safety shoes provided
- Meal allowance on long-route days
- Route-completion incentives in busy months
How to apply
- Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
- Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp, CV noting any loading, moving or delivery work plus police clearance if you already have one.
- Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
- Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 6 working days.
How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Germiston; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.
How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.
How to stand out
- Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
- Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
