IT Junior Cyber Security Administrator (B4) (Finance)

Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is an underground mechanised mine geared to deliver high quality grade chromite for export. The chromite is extracted from underground mining areas at North and South Shafts. The successful applicant will report to the IT Specialist or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate. Certificate: Cybersecurity, or a related field. Code 08 (B) Driver's Licence. EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to): 1 -2 years Relevant IT Cybersecurity experience of which (1) year should be in IT/OT Systems and Security in industrial or mining environments. DUTIES (including but not limited to): Responsible for supporting the organisation's cybersecurity posture by assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of security controls, tools, and processes. The role focuses on ensuring that networks, systems, and data remain protected while gaining hands-on experience with security operation. Network & Security Support: Supporting patching, antivirus checks, and baseline security configurations for desktops and servers. Assisting in updating disaster recovery documentation (e.g., asset lists, backup results, privileged users). Reporting system issues affecting critical business applications for escalation to senior administrators. Desktop Infrastructure & Server Security Support: Manage and maintain all server environments, including Microsoft, cloud-based, and on-premises platforms. Oversee system backups, disaster recovery (DR) testing, and business continuity planning. Maintain up-to-date schematics, documentation, and inventory of all IT infrastructure. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical applications and systems Network & Connectivity Assistant: Assist in monitoring network health dashboards and reporting outages. Help with basic checks on switches, access points, and connectivity paths when troubleshooting. Escalate OT/IT network security issues promptly to avoid production impact. Incident & Problem Management Support: Collect logs, screenshots, and security evidence needed during cyber incident investigations. Maintain accurate incident records in the ticketing or incident response system. Assist with monitoring alerts to identify recurring patterns and escalate potential problems. Asset & Lifecycle Security Assistance: Assist in maintaining an accurate security‑focused asset register (devices, software, privileged access). Support secure onboarding/offboarding processes (e.g., access revocation, device sanitization). Report outdated or insecure equipment that may require replacement. Process Optimization & Reporting: Analyze system performance and generate reports on IT infrastructure efficiency, security, and uptime. Make data-driven recommendations to improve system performance, security, and scalability. Ensure IT policies, standards, and procedures are followed and updated as needed. Conduct mini risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control prior to every task performed. All defects and status of tools and equipment are recorded, signed and handed over to the supervisor. Relevant tools and electrical equipment is maintained and functional and utilized according to manufacturer specifications. Perform housekeeping duties when and where required. Follow waste management procedure when necessary. Deadline:22nd July,2026
