Giles Daubeney, Deputy CEO, Robert Walters An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group Finance and Management Accountant to join a leading, listed fintech organisation based in Johannesburg. This role offers the chance to work at the heart of a dynamic, acquisitive enterprise that operates across multiple locations and is committed to the highest standards of financial transparency and regulatory compliance. What you'll do: As a Group Finance and Management Accountant, you will immerse yourself in a varied role that spans financial accounting, management reporting, compliance oversight, and strategic project participation. Your day-to-day activities will involve Collaborate with Shared Services and operating teams to align group financial workstreams with IFRS and US GAAP standards. Support finance transformation projects, including new reporting tools, FP&A enhancements, process automation, ERP updates, and procurement improvements. Contribute to monthly management processes, including financial controls and group-level activities like B-BBEE compliance. Assist in preparing IFRS financial statements, SEC filings, and regulatory disclosures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Partner with local and US Finance teams to address complex accounting issues and streamline reconciliations. Work with the Group Financial Director on tax compliance across entities by contributing to tax-related workstreams. Play a key role in SOX compliance by reviewing controls, conducting testing, maintaining documentation, and supporting remediation efforts. Maintain audit trails for financial processes and implement best practice documentation across segments. Provide input on consolidated budgets and forecasts, focusing on Shared Services costs in collaboration with FP&A and divisional finance teams. Support ad hoc finance projects, system improvements, API integrations, and strategic initiatives like group reorganisations. What you bring: To excel as a Group Finance and Management Accountant you will bring a blend of technical expertise in accounting principles CA(SA) designation is essential for this role. 3 to 5 years' post-qualification experience ideally gained within fintech, SaaS or digital banking environments. Demonstrated experience working within SOX-compliant environments along with exposure to US GAAP. Proficiency in preparing consolidated accounts under IFRS standards coupled with hands-on knowledge of regulatory filings. Advanced Excel skills are necessary for financial modelling tasks while familiarity with modern financial software tools. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong analytical thinking. A proven track record of collaborating effectively across functions. Ethical conduct combined with operational excellence. An understanding of digital financial products or payment platforms plus awareness of their regulatory landscapes would be beneficial.
