Set within a vast Big Five wilderness in the heart of Zululand, this reserve is a pioneering conservation and rewilding project that combines luxury safari experiences with meaningful community partnerships and ecological restoration. They are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable BACKUP TRAILS GUIDE who can deliver safe, immersive bush experiences while sharing a genuine enthusiasm for wildlife, conservation, and the natural environment with guests. Candidate Responsibilities: Facilitate guided bush walks and game drives, ensuring guest safety while delivering informative and engaging wildlife experiences Support the Lead Trails Guide during walking safaris Interpret the natural environment for guests, sharing knowledge of wildlife behaviour, ecology, tracking, and conservation Maintain safari equipment to ensure they remain in excellent working condition and comply with safety standards Assist with duties around the lodge and reserve as needed Core Criteria: Minimum FGASA NQF2 qualification Backup/Apprentice Trails qualification, with the intention of attaining Lead Trails Rifle competency Valid First Aid certification Previous guiding experience in a Big Five reserve environment Strong knowledge of bushveld ecology, wildlife behaviour, and tracking Excellent guest interaction and interpretation skills This is a live-in position
