Our client, a growing technology company in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a First Line Support to join the helpdesk team. You will be the first point of contact for users reporting IT issues, diagnose problems over the phone and via remote access, document solutions in the knowledge base, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group training to end users on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and user guides to enable self-service and reduce recurring support requests.
- Set up and deploy new computer equipment including imaging, software installation, and physical deployment to user desks.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and drivers on end-user computing devices.
- Document all support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
Requirements
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Microsoft 365 environments including user account and license management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues methodically and think logically under pressure.
- Experience with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar ticketing platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users patiently.
- CompTIA A+ and N+ certifications are strongly preferred, and Microsoft or ITIL certifications are advantageous.
- A diploma or degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent certifications.
