Process Plant Operator - Industrial Minerals

About the Role Our client, a growing producer of industrial minerals , is seeking diligent and safety-conscious Process Plant Operators to join their facility in Vereeniging, Gauteng.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various processing equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and classifiers.
Your primary focus will be on monitoring process parameters, ensuring product quality, and performing routine maintenance to optimize plant performance.

Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor various processing plant equipment, such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and mills.
Control process parameters to ensure consistent product quality and throughput.
Perform routine checks and inspections of equipment to identify potential issues.
Conduct basic preventative maintenance and lubrication tasks as scheduled.
Respond effectively to alarms and process deviations, troubleshooting minor issues.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Maintain accurate operational logs and production records.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the plant area.
Collaborate with maintenance teams and supervisors to resolve equipment problems.
Requirements A Grade 12 (Matric) qualification or equivalent is essential.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating industrial processing equipment, preferably in a mining or manufacturing environment.
Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles relevant to plant operation.
Familiarity with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to read and interpret basic operating manuals and instructions.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in a plant environment.
Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, in Vereeniging, Gauteng.
