Structural Engineer - Coastal Infrastructure

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to bolster their team in Durban , focusing on critical coastal infrastructure projects.
This role involves the design, analysis, and oversight of structures subjected to demanding marine and environmental conditions prevalent in KwaZulu-Natal .
You will be integral to ensuring the integrity, longevity, and safety of various structures, including marine defenses, port facilities, and coastal buildings.

Key Responsibilities Design and analyze structural elements for buildings, bridges, marine structures, and other infrastructure projects, considering complex load conditions.
Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant design codes and software.
Perform site inspections and assessments to ensure construction quality and adherence to design specifications.
Collaborate with architects, geotechnical engineers, and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
Assess existing structures for rehabilitation or strengthening, providing expert recommendations.
Ensure all structural designs comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant engineering best practices for the Durban region.
Requirements Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
Expertise in structural analysis software such as SAP****, ETABS, or similar platforms.
Proven experience in designing structures exposed to marine environments or coastal conditions.
Excellent understanding of material properties, construction methods, and quality control procedures in Durban.
