About the RoleOur client is a reputable home-care service provider seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to support elderly individuals in their homes in Klerksdorp, North West.
This vital role involves providing personalized care and companionship to seniors, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life within familiar surroundings.
You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety and well-being, and fostering a positive and respectful relationship with clients.
We are looking for individuals with a genuine desire to help others, a strong sense of responsibility, and excellent interpersonal skills.
This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and the rewarding experience of making a direct difference in the lives of older adults in our community.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation safely.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects.
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying rooms, doing laundry, and washing dishes.
Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other errands.
Provide companionship and engage in conversation and activities with clients to combat loneliness.
Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervisor or healthcare provider.
Ensure a safe living environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided, observations, and any incidents.
RequirementsPrevious experience as a caregiver, preferably working with the elderly, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Patience, empathy, and a compassionate attitude towards clients.
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to care plans.
Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
Valid identification and the right to work in South Africa.
A willingness to undergo a background check is required.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping.
