A hospital group in Mthatha needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.
This post is in Mthatha (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.
What your day looks like
- Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
- Write short how-to guides for common user problems
- Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
- Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
- Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
- Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
- Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
You'll need
- Patient and friendly with non-technical users
- Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
- At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
- Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
- Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
- Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
