Strong, willing hands are wanted on a school building project in Middelburg (MP). Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.
The site is in Middelburg (MP); early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.
The work, day to day
- Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
- Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
- Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
- Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
- Clear rubble and load it into skips
What you need
- Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
- A clean record is preferred for some government sites
- Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
- Grade 8 or higher
- Prepared to travel between sites in the area
- Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Helpful, not essential
- Previous site work you can show with a reference
- Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
