Engineering Workshop Foreman

Our corporate employees pursue a culture of high performance and delivering and exceeding client expectations.Job Purpose: To oversee and manage daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The Foreman will lead a team of artisans and machinists while maintaining optimal performance of CNC and conventional machining processes. Minimum Requirements: Red Seal qualification in Fitting & Turning or Toolmaking Strong experience in CNC machining, including Fanuc CNC programming Proven supervisory or management experience in an engineering/workshop environment Solid understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and quality control Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and staff Plan and allocate jobs to ensure deadlines and production targets are met Program, set, and optimize CNC machines (Fanuc controls) Ensure quality standards and specifications are consistently achieved Monitor machine performance and coordinate maintenance requirements Enforce health and safety compliance within the workshop Train, mentor, and develop workshop staff and apprentices Manage tooling, materials, and workflow efficiency Key Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and team management ability Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills High attention to detail and quality focus Good communication and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Guidance / Ideal Candidate Profile: Hands-on leader who leads by example on the workshop floor Technically strong with both CNC and conventional machining Experience working in a high-production or precision engineering environment Able to balance production targets with quality and safety requirements Comfortable interacting with engineers, management, and shopfloor staff
