- Drive new business development and expand logistics services across Southern Africa.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, suppliers, and transport partners.
- Develop and implement business growth strategies, negotiate contracts, and identify new market opportunities.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, financial performance, and monitor transport costs, including cost-per-kilometre (CPK).
- Oversee commercial operations, ensuring compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor commodity trends, analyse market conditions, and adapt business strategies accordingly.
- Prepare regular performance reports and present key business insights to senior management.
- Recruit, lead, and develop team members while managing performance and fostering a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree in Logistics, Sales, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar commercial or business management role within the road transport industry.
- Proven experience building and maintaining a strong customer base.
- Strong leadership, organisational, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Solid understanding of the transport and logistics industry, including vehicle operating costs and CPK calculations.
- Strong analytical, financial management, and strategic planning abilities.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and provide support outside of normal business hours when required.
