OUR MANDATE

The Department of Agriculture aims to improve the lives of rural South Africans by focusing on rural development, land reform, and food security. This includes addressing basic needs, promoting land reform and rural businesses, supporting local markets and infrastructure, increasing investment in agricultural infrastructure for smallholder farmers, improving land tenure security, addressing land claims, and expanding the “Food for All” program to provide affordable food to poor communities. Valid compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a professional Natural Scientist.
