An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Estimator to join our client’s head office team in Edenvale. This role is suited to a middle-management professional with a strong background in construction estimating and the ability to contribute strategically to the tendering and estimating function.
Requirements
- National Diploma or BTech/BSc/BEng in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Science or a related built-environment field
- Approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience in a construction estimating environment.
- Strong experience working specifically within an estimating department.
- Previous middle-management or supervisory experience will be advantageous.
- A background in construction estimating is essential; this is not a Quantity Surveying-focused role.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, tendering and pricing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a head office environment based in Edenvale.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate estimating activities from tender review through to submission.
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyse tender documentation, drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Review pricing, supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Coordinate with internal departments and project stakeholders to ensure accurate tender submissions.
- Identify commercial risks, pricing discrepancies and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the development and improvement of estimating processes and systems.
- Provide guidance and leadership within the estimating department.
