ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for someone to take full ownership of our finance function and replace our existing accounting firm. This is a hands-on, full-function role; you'll own everything from day-to-day reconciliations through to annual financial statements, with real autonomy and minimal oversight. Full-time, fully remote, with one in-person check-in meeting weekly in Cape Town (Seapoint).
IS IT FOR ME?
- Solid full-function bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally having run finances independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable owning supplier reconciliations, loading and authorising
- Confident running payroll end to end and processing loans
- Strong grip on balance sheet and P&L preparation, gross profit monitoring and overhead reporting
- Solid working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and UIF
- Experience preparing Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and liaising directly with auditors and tax advisors
- Self-directed, dependable and comfortable working remotely without close oversight
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Reconciling supplier accounts and managing supplier loading and authorisation
- Running payroll and processing loans
- Preparing balance sheets and P&Ls
- Monitoring gross profit and overhead reporting
- Managing VAT, PAYE and UIF compliance
- Preparing Annual Financial Statements
- Liaising directly with our auditor and tax advisor
