Industrial Engineer - Manufacturing Process Development

About the RoleOur client, a growing manufacturing firm based in Mahikeng, North West , is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to focus on Manufacturing Process Development.
This role is integral to designing, implementing, and refining production processes for new and existing products, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
You will work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to translate product designs into robust manufacturing solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to innovate and solve complex process challenges.
This is a remote-first position, requiring a self-driven individual capable of delivering results without direct supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introductions and existing product lines.Design production line layouts and workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.Conduct process capability studies and implement improvements using statistical methods.Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including flow charts, SOPs, and work instructions.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.Identify and evaluate new manufacturing technologies and equipment to enhance productivity and quality.Perform cost analysis and feasibility studies for process changes and capital investments.Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and tools to drive continuous improvement.Train production personnel on new or modified processes and equipment.Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing processes and technologies.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing process development and optimization.Proven experience in designing and implementing manufacturing processes in a production environment.Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, VSM).
Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and new product introduction (NPI) processes.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.Must be authorized to work in South Africa.This is a fully remote role.BenefitsOur client offers a competitive salary of R per annum , along with comprehensive benefits including medical aid and performance bonuses.
