Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for:
• Assessing communication disorders : Evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities to diagnose disorders.
• Developing treatment plans : Create personalized therapy plans to address individual patient needs.
• Conducting therapy sessions : Provide individual and group therapy sessions to help patients improve their communication skills.
• Educating patients and families : Offer guidance and support to patients and families regarding communication disorders and treatment options.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams : Work alongside physicians, occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:
• Degree in Speech Therapy : A valid degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is essential.
• Registration with the health professions council : Current registration is necessary to practice as a Speech Therapist.
• Experience in speech therapy : Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills : Essential for effectively interacting with patients and their families.
• Empathy and patience : Critical for providing compassionate care to individuals with communication challenges.
