Job Purpose: The job purpose of the Librarian is to provide a library and information services.
Key performance areas:
- The Librarian must ensure that the daily work is done to satisfaction and to achieve the objectives of Council. He/she will be responsible for:
- To Coordinate the Obtaining of quotations, the ordering and payment of material.
- Maintaining Library building, Equipment (including furniture) and material (including books, magazines, and newspapers). Administer library membership
- Administer the issuing and receiving of library material e.g. books, magazines, CD’s and DVD’s • Monitor the SLIMS computerised lending system when is offline.
Requirements:
- B-Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent library qualification. (NQF 7), Driver’s Licence and 2 Years relevant Experience.
