This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Epping. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.
This post is in Epping (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.
What your day looks like
- Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
- Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
- Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
- Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
- Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
You'll need
- Code 08 licence for site visits
- BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
- Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
- At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
- You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
- Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
Helpful, not essential
- Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
- Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
