- BEng Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BTech Mechanical Engineering (with extensive relevant experience)
- Professional Registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng)
- Reliability Engineering qualification
- Failure Analysis training
- Project Management qualification
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years' experience within vibrating equipment, mineral processing equipment, or mining equipment manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
- Strong experience with vibrating screens, feeders, exciters and vibratory drives.
- Proven experience conducting root cause failure investigations and reliability assessments.
- Experience managing and supporting Field Service teams.
- Strong background in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Customer-facing technical support and stakeholder engagement experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Act as the technical authority for all aftermarket products and services.
- Provide engineering support for vibrating screens, feeders, exciters, and associated equipment.
- Review and approve technical quotations, repair scopes, and refurbishment recommendations.
- Support complex customer technical enquiries and problem-solving initiatives.
Engineering Design & Technical Review
- Review and approve manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
- Verify engineering specifications and compliance with OEM standards.
- Evaluate customer modification requests and recommend design improvements.
- Work closely with Sales Engineering teams to develop technically sound solutions.
Manufacturing & Quality Assurance
- Inspect manufactured components and assemblies for quality and dimensional compliance.
- Support production teams in resolving technical and engineering challenges.
- Ensure refurbishment and repair projects meet required engineering standards.
Reliability Engineering & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead failure investigations on equipment and components.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Develop recommendations to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering recommendations for customers and management.
Field Services Leadership
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to Field Service teams.
- Establish service methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Review service reports and technical findings.
- Conduct site inspections, customer visits, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and maintenance reviews.
Customer Technical Support
- Engage directly with customers to understand operational challenges.
- Develop engineering solutions aimed at reducing downtime and improving plant performance.
- Support maintenance planning, reliability improvement initiatives, and equipment optimisation.
- Balance technical requirements with customer expectations and commercial objectives.
Technical Sales Support
- Support Commercial Managers and Sales Engineers with:
- Technical evaluations
- Maintenance budgeting
- Life-cycle costing
- Equipment performance assessments
- Upgrade and optimisation recommendations
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Recommend design enhancements and product improvements.
- Contribute to product development and technical training programmes.
- Promote engineering excellence and best practices throughout the organisation.
