Key Responsibilities
Design and develop advanced power electronic circuits and systems, including AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
Perform detailed simulations and analysis (e.g., steady-state, transient, thermal) using industry-standard tools like PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and ANSYS.
Select appropriate power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN) and passive components.
Develop control algorithms and firmware for power converters.
Design and optimize control loops for stable and efficient operation under various load conditions.
Oversee the construction and testing of prototypes, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on designs.
Generate comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout guidelines, test reports, and bills of materials.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and testing engineers.
Stay current with the latest developments in power electronics technology and manufacturing trends.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the remote team.
Requirements
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in power electronics design.
In-depth knowledge of power conversion topologies, control strategies, and magnetic component design.
Proficiency in circuit simulation software (e.g., PSpice, LTspice) and system modeling tools.
Experience with C/C++ programming for embedded control systems is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of thermal management techniques and design for manufacturability.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Proven ability to manage complex projects independently in a remote work environment.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for virtual teamwork.
Familiarity with high-voltage systems and safety standards.
