A Luxury Hotel in Sandton CBD is requiring a hands-on Bookkeeper. Key Areas Of Responsibility: Processing of monthly invoices Reconciliation of travel agent commissions Daily checking of Bank statements for direct deposits to be distributed to Debtors/Reservations/Front Office Processing sundry payments via EFT Cash book reconciliations Processing of Journals given by the Financial Controller Reconciling inter-company accounts Monthly reconciliation of Petty cash and Floats Assisting in preparation of Month End Packs Filing documents in an accurate and orderly format Job rotation on occasion with the cashbook clerk/creditors clerk in order to have a full understanding of all departments Assisting with any Finance or accounting related requirements Key Performance Indicators (KPIS) Accuracy and timeliness in the processing of monthly invoices and sundry EFT payments Accurate and up-to-date cash book, petty cash, floats, and inter-company account reconciliations Timeous daily checking and distribution of bank statement direct deposits to relevant departments Efficient processing of journals and assistance with Month End Pack preparation within set deadlines Maintenance of an orderly and accurate filing system Successful cross-training and job rotation competency with cashbook and creditors functions Minimum Requirements: Minimum Standard 10 (Grade 12), with the required experience to fulfill the full accounting functions of a hotel up to Balance Sheet. Alternatively; appropriate levels of experience with a minimum of 5 (five) years related experience. Certificate or Diploma in Accounting will be an advantage. Computer literacy with a high level of proficiency on Computerised Accounting systems and Excel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to stay structured and focused when working during peak accounting periods. Integrity and respectful at all levels of interaction. Attention to detail and deadline with accuracy driven. Reporting Line: Reporting to: Financial Controller
