Key Responsibilities Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the car wash, ensuring efficient workflow and service delivery.
- Plan and coordinate staffing to meet operational demands.
- Ensure vehicles are processed efficiently while maintaining company quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment.
- Drive sales growth and achieve agreed revenue targets.
- Promote value-added services, packages, and promotions.
- Monitor operational costs and minimise waste of water, chemicals, and consumables.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and investigate discrepancies where necessary.
- Review operational and financial reports and implement corrective actions to improve profitability.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop employees.
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally.
- Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Ensure all vehicles are handled with care and professionalism.
- Monitor service quality to ensure all vehicles receive the services purchased.
- Conduct regular quality inspections.
- Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain consistent service standards across all shifts.
- Ensure all car wash equipment is safe, operational, and well maintained.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain maintenance records.
- Ensure employees operate equipment safely and correctly.
- Manage stock levels of cleaning chemicals, consumables, and operational supplies.
- Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Control the issuing and usage of stock to minimise waste.
- Submit purchasing requests when required.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment for employees, customers, and contractors.
- Ensure chemicals are stored, handled, and used correctly.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report incidents promptly.
- Promote responsible water usage and environmentally sustainable practices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Monitor sales performance, productivity, staffing, stock usage, and customer feedback.
- Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and employee records.
- Provide management with recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- A qualification in Operations Management, Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
- 3–5 years' management experience in an operational environment.
- Previous experience within a car wash or vehicle service environment will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
