Responsibilities
- Adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all times.
- Follow a daily task schedule and checklist to ensure all assigned duties are completed to the required standard within the shift.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, tenants, and members of the public on work sites.
- Sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage areas following proper stacking procedures.
- Perform general manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment, barricades, and signage as required on site.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, storage rooms, and external grounds to ensure a safe and organised environment.
Requirements
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard in all weather conditions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and complete tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues at all times.
- A clean criminal record may be required for positions at secure premises or government buildings.
- Previous experience in a general worker, labourer, or construction assistant role is advantageous but not required.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team under supervision.
