Maintenance Manager

Introduction
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company based in Hammanskraal , operating within the plastics and industrial manufacturing sector . They are looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance function of their factory and ensure that production machinery, equipment, and related systems remain operational, safe, and well maintained.
The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, managing maintenance activities, coordinating contractors and suppliers, and ensuring that maintenance requirements are effectively planned and executed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and implementation of systems.
Manage the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the factory.
Ensure machinery is maintained appropriately.
Identify maintenance issues and coordinate solutions to minimise factory downtime.
Assist with other operational duties and responsibilities when required.
Ensure maintenance-related activities are properly organised and documented.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Technical Requirements:
Relevant engineering, maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or technical qualification would be advantageous.
Must have previous experience in a manufacturing or factory environment.
Experience with factory production machinery.
Good understanding and knowledge of engineering and machinery systems.
Experience managing external contractors and service providers.
Management/Operational Requirements:
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements under pressure.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage suppliers, contractors, quotations, and parts orders.
Must be flexible and willing to assist in other areas when required.
Package & Remuneration
R 40 000 CTC pm.
