Here in Pretoria East, a soft drink bottling plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.
Home base is a soft drink bottling plant on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.
What you'll actually do
- Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
- Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
- Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
- Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
- Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
- Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
- Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
Must-haves
- No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
- Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
- Available for rotating day and night shifts
- You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
- Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
- Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
