Steady 12-hour shifts at an office tower in Vereeniging for PSIRA-registered officers. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.
This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at an office tower.
What your day looks like
- Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
- Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
- Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
- Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
- Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
- Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
- Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
You'll need
- Alert, polite and firm with the public
- Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
- Physically fit for foot patrols
- Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
Helpful, not essential
- Firefighting or evacuation training
- Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
- First-aid Level 1 certificate
