Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and optimisation of electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
Perform detailed power flow, short circuit, and stability analyses using specialised software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP).
Oversee the integration of renewable energy sources (solar, wind) and energy storage systems into the existing grid.
Develop and implement protection schemes and coordination studies to ensure system reliability and safety.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for power system engineering initiatives.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and permits.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of power system engineers.
Review and approve technical designs, reports, and documentation prepared by the team.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new power system projects.
Troubleshoot complex power system issues and implement effective solutions.
RequirementsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialisation in Power Systems.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in power system analysis, design, and operation.
Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
Proficiency in power system simulation and analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
Strong understanding of grid codes, protection principles, and power quality issues.
Experience with renewable energy integration and energy storage technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and decision‐making abilities.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
