Warehouse Clerk

Reporting to the relevant manager, the Warehouse Clerk will maintain accurate stock records by updating the warehouse management system when and prepare outgoing shipments by labelling parcels at a supply chain business in De Aar, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free warehouse by sweeping floors, clearing aisles, and disposing of waste packaging daily.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies including wearing prescribed PPE and following safe manual handling procedures.
• Maintain accurate stock records by updating the warehouse management system when goods are received, issued, or transferred.
• Offload delivery vehicles manually or using pallet jacks, ensuring goods are handled safely and without damage.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies for investigation.
• Organise the warehouse layout to ensure fast-moving lines are easily accessible and goods are stored in their designated locations.

Requirements

• Attention to detail and accuracy when picking, packing, and checking orders to avoid errors and customer complaints.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills to read pick lists, count stock, and complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily productivity targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment; forklift licence is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a warehouse team.
• Reliable and punctual with ability to work shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends as required.
• Physical fitness to stand, walk, lift, and carry items for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
