About the RoleOur client, a distinguished consultancy firm specializing in infrastructure development, is actively seeking a highly accomplished Principal Power Systems Engineer to contribute to their projects based out of Centurion, Gauteng .
This senior role involves leading the strategic design and analysis of complex power systems for major national and international infrastructure projects, including transmission, distribution, and generation.
You will be responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the highest levels of quality and innovation in all power system solutions.

This is an exceptional career advancement opportunity within a highly respected organization known for its commitment to engineering excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, analysis, and optimization of large-scale power systems, including grid integration, load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.Develop strategic technical plans and roadmaps for power system infrastructure development.Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering professional growth and high performance.Oversee the development of protection schemes, earthing systems, and fault analysis for high-voltage networks.Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to present technical findings and secure project approvals.Conduct advanced system modeling and simulation using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
Review and approve technical designs, reports, and proposals generated by the engineering team.Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international power system standards and best practices.Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client relationship management.RequirementsMaster's or PhD in Electrical Power Systems Engineering.A minimum of ***** years of extensive experience in power system planning, design, and analysis.Deep expertise in load flow, transient stability, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.Proficiency with advanced power system simulation software.Demonstrated experience in leading complex power system projects and managing technical teams.Excellent understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.Professional Engineer (Pr.
