An investment management company in George, Western Cape is seeking a Financial Manager for in-depth financial analysis and valuation. You will build complex financial models, prepare investment reports, monitor portfolio performance, and identify market trends. CFA candidates or charter holders are particularly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, including preparing cash flow forecasts and managing banking relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with all tax legislation and regulatory requirements, managing preparation and submission of all tax returns.
- Analyse credit applications and financial statements to assess creditworthiness and make recommendations on lending decisions.
- Lead and manage the external audit process, preparing audit files, responding to queries, and ensuring timely sign-off of financial statements.
- Mentor and develop finance team members, conducting performance reviews, identifying training needs, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Oversee preparation and presentation of accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board reports.
Requirements
- A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in financial management, investment analysis, or a related field.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics with an honours degree or postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis using Microsoft Excel including building integrated three-statement models.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- For credit roles, thorough understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and experience with credit rating models.
