An exciting opportunity exists for a BARISTA to join the Ciro Team in Bryanston. The Barista’s purpose is to deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming and engaging coffee bar experience for all guests. The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high quality beverages consistently, while ensuring all equipment is operational and ready for service.

• Reports to: Coffee Capability Manager

Key Areas Of Impact

Customer Service Excellence

• Deliver friendly, professional, and engaging service while creating a welcoming coffee bar atmosphere.

Beverage Preparation and Quality Control

• Prepare and serve beverages to standard, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and equipment readiness.

Hygiene, Cleanliness and Safety

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, ensure quick turnaround on crockery, and comply with all health and safety requirements.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform regular checks, cleaning, and maintenance of all coffee and beverage equipment, and report any faults.

Record Keeping and Administration

• Accurately track product usage, orders, and all beverages served.
• Maintain sufficient stock levels, place timely orders, and conduct daily stock counts.

Teamwork and Professional Conduct

• Work independently while contributing to a positive team environment.
• Support planning, execution, and service delivery for sleep-out and special initiatives, ensuring a positive participant experience.
• Assist with event preparation, ensure service readiness, provide quality beverage service, and support event clean-up.

Product and Equipment control

• Ensure that sufficient product is available in the coffee bar at all time.
• Order products timeously to prevent out of stock of a product.
• Daily equipment and stock take.

Record Keeping

• Keep record of all product orders. Implement system at the coffee bar to ensure this is done.
• Keep record of drinks served every day.

Experience

• Experience working as a Barista or similar role
• Hands on experience with brewing equipment

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric

Knowledge

• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work

Other Requirements

• Travel and overtime may be required
