Our client within the manufacturing sector is seeking a proactive and analytical Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, manage key reporting functions, and ensure compliance in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Oversee and reconcile payroll processes
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls
- Compile annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Manage VAT, PAYE, income tax, and provisional tax submissions
- Handle queries relating to SARS, audits, and compliance matters
- Perform age analysis and manage supplier and debtor portfolios
- Maintain accurate financial records through journals and reconciliations
- BCom Accounting degree
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Exposure to a manufacturing or industrial environment advantageous
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation capability
- Sound knowledge of statutory compliance and tax processes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
