Mandate To develop, utilise and manage nuclear technology for national and regional socio-economic development through: Applied R&D; Commercial application of nuclear and associated technology; Contributing to the development of skills in science and technology.Key Performance Areas Job Requirements Lead and manage all the machine shop tasks and departmental objectives. Lead and coordinate SAFARI-1 manufacturing, machining, and fabrication activities. Review, plan, and execute manufacturing requests in support of reactor operations and maintenance. Liaise with Advanced Manufacturing/external service providers to ensure effective delivery of manufacturing tasks. Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, technical documentation, and work instructions. Prepare and submit quarterly reports on machine shop activities, performance, and completed work. Initiate and manage internal and external procurement processes for machine shop requirements. (i.e. RFQ & IWO's). Prepare, coordinate manufacturing drawings with drawing office and evaluate suppliers for manufacturing services, tools, and equipment. Coordinate the procurement of machine shop tools, consumables, spare parts, and measuring instruments. Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of CNC machines and other workshop equipment. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements while promoting continuous improvement within the machine shop. Precision manufacturing of unique & intricate components used in reactor facilities (Nuclear). Aiding Engineering development of specialized tooling (e.g. irradiation rigs) in reactor facilities (Nuclear). Assembling of Irradiation rigs required for Isotope production (Nuclear). Procurement of required material and tooling. Lead and manage all the machine shop tasks and departmental objectives. Prepare and submit quarterly reports on machine shop activities, performance, and completed work. Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of CNC machines and other workshop equipment. Assist to develop skills of other Machinists (Skills Transfer). Minimum Qualifications Matriculation certificate. Certified Instrument Maker / Machinist / Toolmaker. Computer literacy certificate. (compulsory). Minimum Experience 5 Years in Instrument Maker / Machinist / Toolmaker experience (preferably 2 years thereof in Nuclear Environment).
