An independent primary school in Cape Town CBD needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.
You'll be based at an independent primary school in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.
The work, day to day
- Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
- Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
- Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
- Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
- Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
Must-haves
- A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
- Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
- At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
- Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
Extra points for
- Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
- Coaching experience in a major school sport
- Honours degree in your subject or in education management
