What you'll actually do
- Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
- Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
- Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
- Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
- Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
- Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
You'll need
- Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
- Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
- Understanding of VAT input and output rules
- Matric with Accounting
Helpful, not essential
- Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
- Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
- Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
