This is hands-on electrical work in Worcester: new installs, repairs and CoCs that pass the first time. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.
This post is in Worcester (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.
What you'll actually do
- Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
- Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
- Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
- Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
- Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
- Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
- Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
You'll need
- Valid Code 08 driver's licence
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
- Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
- At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
Extra points for
- N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
- Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
