Preschool Teacher

We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to teach at a well-resourced school in Benoni, Gauteng. You will prepare lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, manage classroom discipline, mark and provide feedback on learner work, and communicate regularly with parents. This is a permanent position with competitive remuneration.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular and constructive feedback to learners on their performance, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
• Create and maintain a positive and disciplined classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and respectful of all learners.
• Fulfil administrative duties such as maintaining the class register, preparing resources, and managing classroom supplies and equipment.
• Supervise learners during break times, extramural activities, and school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Identify learners requiring additional academic or emotional support and refer them to appropriate internal or external support structures.

Requirements

• A minimum of two to three years of teaching experience in the relevant phase or subject area within a similar school environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using educational technology including interactive whiteboards, learning management systems, and online teaching platforms.
• Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks applicable to the specific grade level or subject area.
• Excellent classroom management skills with ability to maintain discipline and create a respectful and productive learning environment.
• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic and personal development of every learner in your care.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working independently when required.
