Aircon Installer (Residential)

You'll install, service and repair refrigeration and aircon systems across Mokopane. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Mokopane-based, with most of your time spent at a cold chain logistics company. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

• Diagnose faulty compressors, fans, contactors and control boards
• Recover refrigerant into cylinders and log every kilogram used
• Respond to temperature alarms from cold rooms before stock is lost
• Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits
• Pressure test with nitrogen, pull a deep vacuum and charge with R410A, R32 or R134a
• Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls

You'll need

• At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
• Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
• SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
