Start in retail here: a neighbourhood supermarket in Montague Gardens trains packers who show up and work neat. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.
Home base is a neighbourhood supermarket on the Montague Gardens side of Western Cape. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.
What your day looks like
- Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
- Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
- Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
- Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
- Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
What you need
- Polite with customers and happy to help
- Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
- Able to stand and lift cases all shift
- Neat appearance and punctual
Extra points for
- Some till or cash-handling experience
- Being 18 or older for liquor store roles
