Our client in the FMCG Industry has a new vacancy for a Millwright based in Queenstown EC Supporting production to meet machine efficiency targets Maintenance and repairs are carried out as per instruction/ plan, meeting all the quality requirements. Breakdowns are repaired with the minimum production downtime Execute effective production safety/housekeeping Assess the problem and determine a course of action Provide guidance and advice on machine operation, machine fault finding Reduce unplanned downtime on the production lines Ensure that manufacturing machines are optimised for quality output Ensuring that the machines are properly maintained Tools and equipment utilisation comply with manufacturer's specifications and procedures Equipment is correctly identified as per instruction e.g. job card, maintenance schedule, and maintenance manual Tracking performances daily identifying performance gaps Manage preventative maintenance programs and ensure proper and safe operation of processing equipment Ensuring effective process control during production operations Ensure relevant paperwork is completed daily Safe work environment Healthy work environment Ensure effective quality management during production process Executing effective production safety/ housekeeping Operating/ shutting down and changing over machines and equipment to prescribed standards Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts. Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometres, and plumb bobs Connect power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation Repair and lubricate machines and equipment. Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools. Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment, using blueprints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specifies clearances between moving and stationary parts. Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools. Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools. Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment. Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill. To uphold accurate food safety and quality standards by following established procedures, ensuring proper hygiene and promptly address potential risks. Promoting a strong Food Safety and Quality Culture by maintaining a keen eye for detail. Promptly report issues identified that could result in an unsafe or out of specification product. Actively participate in training programs to stay updated with Food Safety and Quality standards. Communicate on a regular basis with management and team members to maintain a shared commitment to Food Safety and Quality Culture Participate in the system and engage in record completion and report any documentation that do not work. Maintain a positive attitude and participate in audits. Minimum requirements Matric (Math & Science) Trade Test, Diploma (NQF 6 ) Competence on PLCs (S7) Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, speed drives, fillers, and labelers Fully competent in both electrical and mechanical
