The Payroll Administrator will process monthly payroll accurately, coordinate onboarding and induction of new employees and provide advice to line managers and employees on HR policies.
The role is based in Benoni, Gauteng. There is genuine scope to shape the role and make it your own. The team prides itself on professionalism and consistently meeting commitments. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit statutory reports including Employment Equity Reports, Skills Development Levy claims, and Workplace Skills Plans.
- Maintain and update the HR information system and employee files, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with data protection.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction of new employees, ensuring documentation is complete and integration is smooth.
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary hearings, grievances, incapacity processes, and performance improvement.
- Process monthly payroll accurately and timeously, ensuring all earnings, deductions, and statutory contributions are correct.
- Coordinate training and development activities including identifying needs, sourcing providers, and evaluating effectiveness.
Requirements
- A minimum of two to five years of progressive experience in a generalist or specialist HR role within an organisation.
- For recruitment roles, proven ability to source candidates using various methods and experience with applicant tracking systems.
- Thorough knowledge of South African labour legislation including the LRA, BCEA, and Employment Equity Act.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when processing payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
