A low-fee private school in Johannesburg CBD needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.
This post is Johannesburg CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a low-fee private school. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.
What you'll actually do
- Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
- Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
- Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
- Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
- Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
What you need
- A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
- At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
- Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
- Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
Nice if you have
- Experience with remedial or inclusive education
- Coaching experience in a major school sport
- Honours degree in your subject or in education management
