Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and qualify sales leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and track progress in CRM systems.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers to identify upselling and crossselling opportunities.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and customized proposals.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms to secure profitable agreements.
- Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines and company policies.
- Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews to strengthen relationships.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Prepare sales reports and provide insights to enhance performance.
- Update customer SOPs and ensure accurate documentation.
- Matric (essential); logistics qualification advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in freight forwarding sales (sea and air essential).
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, global trade, and logistics processes.
- Ability to hunt, close, and retain key accounts.
- Confident communicator with a commercial mindset.
- Existing client relationships advantageous.
- Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Resilient and adaptable in a fastpaced environment.
