Operations Manager

Our client in the Hospitality and Resort Industry is seeking to employ an Operations Manager to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within a hotel or resort environment.
• At least 3 years' experience in an operational management role.
• Proven experience managing multiple departments and teams within hospitality operations.
• Experience working with Property Management Systems (PMS); Semper or Opera advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of South African Health and Safety legislation (OHS Act).
• Experience managing contractors and service providers.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational abilities.
• Valid South African Driver's Licence.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all daily operational functions of the resort to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Lead and manage Housekeeping, Front Office, Maintenance, Security, and Conferencing & Events departments.
• Conduct regular inspections and walkabouts to maintain high operational and property standards.
• Manage guest satisfaction, complaints resolution, and service recovery processes.
• Ensure accommodation units and public areas meet quality and cleanliness standards.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee operational planning and execution of conferences and events.
• Manage preventative maintenance schedules and emergency maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with security procedures, health and safety regulations, and emergency protocols.
• Lead, mentor, develop, and performance-manage operational teams.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, training, and development initiatives.
• Manage contractor relationships and monitor service level agreements.
• Prepare and submit operational reports to senior management.
• Maintain accurate operational records, incident reports, and guest feedback logs.
• Support the General Manager in achieving operational excellence and business objectives.
