Hands-on from day one, the Logistics Coordinator will prepare and process all import and export documentation, maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system and monitor and report for a supply chain business in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system by processing all stock movements and conducting cycle counts.
- Monitor and report on KPIs including on-time delivery rates, inventory accuracy, warehouse throughput, and transport costs.
- Prepare and process all import and export documentation including customs declarations, bills of entry, and shipping instructions.
- Supervise warehouse staff including pickers, packers, and forklift drivers, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Plan and coordinate transportation activities including route planning, load consolidation, carrier selection, and delivery scheduling.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with health and safety regulations including safe operation of material handling equipment.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, delivery shortfalls, damaged goods, and returns, implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A minimum of two to four years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of South African customs regulations, import and export procedures, and Incoterms for international logistics.
- A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, transport management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems, transport management systems, or ERP systems such as SAP.
- A valid driver's licence is essential; own transport may be required for roles involving site visits or shift work.
