Hands-on from day one, the Chemical Engineer will prepare and review engineering drawings, conduct technical analyses and ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards for a production facility in Soweto, Gauteng.

Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and resources, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for industrial plant and equipment to maximise reliability.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technicians, and graduate trainees, providing technical and professional development guidance.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, bills of quantities, technical reports, and contract documentation to high accuracy.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, simulations, and technical specifications for civil, mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
Requirements
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to produce clear technical reports and present to varied audiences.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across engineering disciplines for integrated project outcomes.
- Professional registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng, or candidate registration actively working towards professional registration.
- A minimum of five to eight years of postgraduate engineering experience with demonstrable project achievements in the relevant sector.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to apply engineering first principles to complex technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa.
