Help a municipal human resources unit in Middelburg (MP) look after its people, one form and one query at a time. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.
This post is Middelburg (MP)-based, with most of your time spent at a municipal human resources unit.
What you'll actually do
- Archive old records and follow the retention periods for HR files.
- Take minutes at hearings and HR meetings.
- Help organise wellness days, long-service awards and staff events.
- Capture leave, sick notes and family responsibility leave on the HR system.
- Set up new staff files and check that all onboarding forms are signed.
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and confirmation letters.
Must-haves
- Discreet with personal and medical information
- Friendly and approachable with staff at every level
- Basic understanding of the BCEA leave rules
- Matric plus an HR certificate, diploma or degree (or currently studying)
- Neat, organised filing habits
- Good MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel
Nice if you have
- Minute-taking training
- Knowledge of SETA processes and the Skills Development Act
