You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the gold processing plant near Johannesburg CBD. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.
Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.
What you'll actually do
- Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
- Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
- Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
- Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
- Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
What you need
- Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
- Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
- At least 1 year operating a processing plant
- Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
- Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
- MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
Nice if you have
- Control room experience
- N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
- Forklift or overhead crane licence
