Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the main building contractor in Sandton. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.
Location: Sandton, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.
What you'll actually do
- Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
- Prepare the final account at the end of the project
- Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
- Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
- Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
- Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
- Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
What you need
- Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
- At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
- You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
- BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
- Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
